Straight answers.No small print.

The questions we get asked most, answered the way we would answer them standing in your driveway. If yours is not here, ask it directly — it is one message and it costs nothing.

01
quotes & visits

Quotes and getting hold of us

No. The site survey and the written quote are both free, and there is no obligation afterwards. We would rather look at the job than guess at it.

Because an honest price needs a look at the property. Two houses wanting “four cameras” can be a very different job depending on cable routes, sightlines and what is already installed. A price list would either be wrong or so padded it was useless to you.

Message us on WhatsApp at 067 539 7520 with roughly what you need and where you are, and we will arrange a time to come and look. Prefer to talk? Call 072 532 9559 — and email works equally well.

WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us. If we are on a job we will get back to you as soon as we are off it — and we return missed calls.

02
on the day

Working with us

Both. Houses, complexes and estates, offices, shops, yards, farms and smallholdings.

It helps a lot. You know which corner worries you, which door matters and what has failed before. For the install itself someone needs to give access, but it does not have to be you all day.

Yes, and a good part of our work is exactly that — repairs, servicing and extensions to existing cameras, gates, alarms, geysers and boards. Where the existing equipment genuinely cannot do what you want, we will say so rather than sell you a patch.

Either. We normally supply as part of the quote, but if you have already bought a unit we will fit it — we will just tell you first if it is the wrong size for the job.

03
cameras, gates & alarms

The watch stack

Fewer than most people expect, if they are in the right places. It is about sightlines rather than count. We walk the property and agree the angles with you before quoting. There is more on the CCTV and access control page.

Yes to both, with the right equipment. Remote camera viewing needs working internet at the property, and phone control of a gate needs a compatible receiver or intercom — so both are worth deciding at quote stage.

Usually a repair. It is most often the limits, the rack, an obstruction, a tired battery or the control board. We fault-find first and only quote a replacement if it genuinely is one.

Almost always a detector aimed at something that moves, or a beam set far too sensitive. Repositioning, re-zoning or a pet-tolerant detector normally fixes it.

The panel can be set up to signal a monitoring company, but the monitoring contract is between you and that company — we install and configure, we do not provide the response service.

04
solar, water & electrical

The power stack

It can, but it is rarely the cheapest answer. Most systems are sized to carry the essentials through an outage and leave the heavy loads — geyser, stove, pool pump — on the grid. Tell us what must stay on and for how long, and we size it for that.

Your latest electricity bill or monthly units, a list of what must run during an outage, and how long you need it to last. Roof type and where the DB board is fills in the rest. It is all on the solar power page.

Only if you want power when the grid is down. Panels on their own reduce what you buy during the day but go down with the grid.

Yes — the electrical backup element stays, so a run of grey days simply costs you what your geyser costs you now.

We issue a COC for electrical work where the installation calls for one. In South Africa a COC is commonly required when a property is sold or transferred, and may also be asked for by an insurer or after work has been done. If you are not sure whether your job needs one, ask — it is a quick answer.

05
travel & scheduling

Areas and scheduling

We are based in Florauna, Pretoria North, and work across Gauteng including the Randburg side. There is a fuller list on the areas page — but it is a guide, not a boundary. If your suburb is not on it, ask.

Yes, particularly for borehole solar pumps, standalone solar lighting and yard security, where there is often nobody local doing that work. Distance is a scheduling question, not a refusal.

Usually. Tell us which hours are impossible and we will sequence the job around them.

Yes — servicing, fault finding and extensions, on our installs and on other people’s.

We would rather answer a question now than have you find out the answer after the install. Message us and we will tell you straight.
